The elaboration of this wine begins with grapes with a degree of maturity apt for their subsequent aging in American and French oak barrels. It is a balanced crianza wine, aromatic and silky, with perfect equilibrium.
Appearance
A clean and transparent wine, brilliant and pleasing to the eye. With intense colouring of the eye. Cherry red in colour with slight variation towards still cool tones (impacted blues), which denote its freshness and youth in spite of it being a crianza wine.
Nose
Of medium high aromatic intensity. In a still glass the mostly tertiary aromas of American barrel, vanillas, coconut and light roasts are highlighted. Nevertheless the presence of mature fruit supporting the light predominance of a tertiary aroma are noted. In a swirled glass the aromas which appeared in a still glass are intensified, if anything the fruit aromas become more important, which makes the final ensemble more harmonious.
Palate
Of medium and well structured palate, somewhat hard because of its youth, although it is true that the tannins will evolve in an adequate manner over the next few months guaranteeing good conservation in the bottle. Balanced in acidity and fruit weight. A slightly bitter and pleasant final aftertaste, although a little short. Not very intense retronasal but pleasant.
Pairing
Ideal companion to cheeses, red meat and game.
Best served at: 16 - 18 ºC
In summary, a classic crianza, well elaborated combining to perfection the subtlety and elegance of the indigenous varieties of Giró and Monastrell, together with the fruity French variety Merlot.
